Get Involved
During 2007, Baltimore Main Street neighborhoods leveraged $229,348 in donations to support neighborhood festivals, advertising, façade improvements, trash clean-up, and more.  In addition, they recruited and managed 1,445 community volunteers that contributed over 8,375 hours of service valued at $164,298 to Baltimore’s citizens.

We also opened 37 net new businesses, which has resulted in 107 new full-time jobs for Baltimore.  Over $1.1 million dollars in façade improvements were completed in our nine neighborhoods this year, which includes $1 million dollars in private investment.  For every dollar of public funds that was invested in a Baltimore Main Street neighborhood last year, there was over $19 in private investment.  These results would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of volunteers!

What Do Main Street Volunteers Do?

Baltimore Main Street volunteers serve in a variety of capacities. From helping with a one-time event like the Annual Pigtown Festival or planting flowers in Federal Hill, to something more long-term such as serving as a Board member.  Whatever your interest we are sure to have something that meets your needs and availability!

All of our neighborhoods have committees that are organized by the National Main Street Four Point Approach.  If you would like to learn more about how these committees accomplish everything from fund raising to building facade improvements, please contact your local Main Street neighborhood below and ask to learn more about their committees.
